Fairmont participants: So exciting to see them receive one of the Minnesota Valley Action Council Achiever awards for Martin County. They had gone through the course based on MVAC recommending it, purchased a home that became available as now lender, realtor and housing professionals involved knew more about a MVAC program and housing that was available. This occured about two years ago and in 2007 they recieved this award.

Faribault lender: The  participant I sent to class even called me after the first session to say how much he enjoyed it, learned and was excited to go again.

North Mankato Participant: I thought the classes were very informative. I was most interested in learning about escrow accounts, points, duel agency and title insurance.

North Mankato Participant: The Part B or second session was really great. The speakers relayed pertinent information at a level new home buyers could easily understand.

She said this really made class more memorable and helped to have them give their input to the curriculum.

Recent participant from Mankato: There was a great deal of humor by the housing professionals giving information so although class is 8 hours long she would recommend these classes to anyone considering buying a home. She learned far more than she assumed she was going to although she went because another PAH Home Stretch participant had recommended it.

North Mankato Participant: One recent participant quickly went out hunting for a part-time job after sitting through class. She and her significant other want to make sure they are prepared to be home owners. On one hand this might give PAH Home Stretch a certain reputation as being to strict. On the other hand it speaks well for people who hear the message and take action before becoming home owners.

New Ulm Participant: The lender teaching the class asked us if we knew the right questions to helping us make a decision when they heard the lender we are working with recommended a 40 year instead of a 30 year loan. She told us to ask the lender to give us all the facts on what difference this made in our monthly payments and what it also made in the cost of the house over those 2 time periods. When our lender told us only about $14 a month but a lot of difference kn the total cost of the house over a long period of time. We determined what was best for us. Everyone buying a home has the right to make their own decisions but we do need to know all the facts. We love our lender and trust her completely but we are sure glad we found out what questions to ask.

Mankato Participant: Home buyer education should have been my first step in the home buying process. Program is comprehensive.

St. Peter Participant: I came to interpret for my friend, I learned I should also attend as we want to buy.

Fairmont Participant: My dad came with me to class. He says home buying has really changed since they bought their house 20 years ago.

Blue Earth Participant: Presenters are good. They work hard not to make it tiring after working for 8 hours and the coming to class. I wish I would have done this earlier in the process.

St. Paul Participant: We enjoyed coming to classes. The drive was worth it to best meet our schedules.

North Mankato Participant: I learned home inspections are important and can save you lots of dollars.
